2007 Races Schedule

All race schedules are now on the CYC Calendar!  Remember, if you want specific information a race or event, you can get it by clicking on the item.  Note, however, that the specific information about some races and events, is not available yet.

Also remember that when you click on a specific race or event, you will get the option to have an email sent to you prior to it as a reminder… a really cool feature for those of us who experience a lot of “senior moments” these days!

Sailing Smart Rules Seminar

Please note that Sailing Smart Rules Seminar will be held at the Grand Traverse Bay Yacht CLub on April 21, 2007. Allan Teske will conduct the all day session on rules and the event will include lunch. The seminar is hosted by CYC and GTBYC. More information and the registration form will be coming but please note and save the date.

January 26 – Boating Resource Night. Ever wondered where to find that miscellaneous piece of hardware? Have you thought “there must be someone who has done this before?” Ever want just the right website for your boating interests? Come join us for a presentation of what is out there – share your favorite site or publication too!

February 9 – Develop a Successful Racing Program for your Boat! Jim Neumann, North Sails, will present his system for success on the race course. If you, recently changed boats, need to tune up the older boat for better performance, or could benefit from a refresher, learn what things may make your boat and crew perform better.

February 23 – What to Expect from the Charlevoix Coast Guard. Meet Chief Scott Boop of the Charlevoix Lifesaving Station. He will present the current scope of the Charlevoix Coast Guard. What you can expect from them in an emergency, and their mission to support recreational boating.

March 9 – Get Optimum Performance from your Engine. Don Voisin, crew chief for son Vince in the American Power Boat Association, knows what it takes to go fast and stay in top performance mode. He will talk about their powerboat racing experiences and the motors, propellers, maintenance and safety equipment required for optimum performance.

March 23 - Does your Boat Insurance Really Cover all You Do? Don’t find out the hard way! Mike Smith, President Global Marine Insurance Agency, will present a program of boating insurance stories-what went right, what was wrong. Learn what to look for in boat insurance coverage from this notable expert.

April 13 – What’s hot and What’s Not in Boating Electronics. Corrine Cox from West Marine will be sharing the latest and greatest of the electronics market. Great general information and an opportunity to get answers to your questions!
